WING CHUN KUEN KUNG FU MARTIAL ARTS UK WCDKA™ - LEARNING
|
| |
"Since normal human behaviour in learning is to explore, setting up and then testing hypotheses, it is important that those who teach identify this and set up their appropriate strategies. Teachers must recognise that change to new ways can be quite painful. In term of self-image, adjustment, insecurity and so on. Students need support as they deal with change. No amount of good practice and skills is much use if, when circumstances change or new challenges arise, they become outdated and an obstacle rather than a help".
|
| |
"Dinosaurs were amongst the most successful creatures ever to evolve. Why did they become extinct? It seems that they could not adapt to the catastrophic changes that happened in their environment".
|
| |
Keeping traditions alive is valid for the preservation of the basic skill. Wing Chun Kuen Kung Fu martial art principles have great potential, anyone who has got a sound grasp of these minimalist concepts, holds the key to unlimited self-development. A serious problem for teachers and students alike is to become too complacent about their skills and accept what works in the classroom as pure gospel... Enough said!

Whatever letters of the Roman alphabet you wish to use to imitate the sound of the two Chinese characters that name the style, don't be fooled by politics! Whichever race conceived us, we are still mortals with our own strength and a good share of weaknesses.
|
| |
We offer our students a basic curriculum which covers all the complete aspects of the system to teacher level and more. We insist on teaching all the undiluted underlying principles. It is fair to allow students to express themselves, they will then make their own individual minds up. Members are fully recognised & Certified once completing and maintaining their learning accordingly.

To stick legs, not in a literal manner of course. It would be more concise to say that this method of training teaches how to control your opponent's lower limps. |

Baat Jam Dao
Wing Chun Kuen Kung Fu Eight Cutting Knives. Relax... there are only two really! Are they useful in today's society? In our opinion: Yes and no! We will explain this to you when you reach this hurdle. |

Luk Tim Bon Kun
Six & a half Long Pole Techniques. No, not six and a half poles, just six and a half movements... Yes, that is correct! This weapon was a late addition to Wing Chun Kuen Kung Fu and measures a whopping 9ft and 3" in length. You definitely could not conceal this one. |

This last part of training is strictly for instructor level students who will have first of all learned the realistic use of a knife and its brutal realities. Simply learning a method of hand-to-hand combat fighting does not automatically supply you with the skills to deal with a cutting instrument. Apart from Hollywood movies, very few people survive a knife attack unhurt. The majority will cease to exist! Don't let us apologise for being so honest. A Knife attack remains an extremely hostile environment and must be addressed. No, it does not matter who you are, since any "Dick" and "Harry' can conceivably carry a knife and use it indiscriminately against you when you least expect. If you are the type of person who loves to solicit confrontations from now on, think again! |

ONLY advanced students may apply to participate! |
